National Youth Day – 12th Jan 2020

National Youth Day is observed in India on January 12 on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared the day as the ‘National Youth Day’ and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year. Swami Vivekananda was a great person who always believed in the youth power to lead and nourish the historical culture of the country. Philosophies, teachings and ideas of Swami Vivekananda are the great cultural and traditional assets of India. Youth is the most important part of the country who lead the country ahead, that’s why youths are selected to be inspired first by the ideas and ideals of Swami Vivekananda. So, the National Youth Day is celebrated every year to encourage and inspire the honourable youths of our country.

Govinda dasa college library  also celebrated National Youth Day  on 12th Jan 2020. Co-ordinator of Literary Association and HOD of Sanskrit  Department Prof. Vageesh Shastri addressed the students and said that today’s students are the creation of the nation, if youths are focused  we can build a strong nation.

Lecturers Smt. Geetha K, Smt. Shailaja, Smt. Vidhya Patil,   Kum Sridevi,   Smt. Sudha U,  Smt. Babitha, Smt. Veena, Kum. Sriraksha, Kum. Jyothi Kamath, Smt. Pratheeksha, Smt. Bharathi, Kum Swetha, Kum. Sandhya,  Kum. Poornima Gokhale,   and All M.Com students were present.

Smt. Savithri A Librarian, welcomed the gathering and Sri, Chandrashekar, Library Staff proposed the vote of thanks.
