In order to boost the youths towards agriculture, GDC conducted a one day National Conference inaugurated by Dr M K Naik, Vice Chancellor, Agriculture and Horticulture University, Shimoga. Inaugural session had spekers like Dr B S Sherigara, former vice chancellor, Shimoga University; Prof. Balakrishna Kalluraya from Mangalore University; Sri E Janardhan, President H V Sangha, Surathkal; Principal Dr K Shivashankar Bhat ; 
Chairman of the conference, Dr Sharatha Kumar; Sr Neelappa V, HOD Chemistry UG.
The total number papers for poster presentation was 56. There were 3 plenary sessions- key note by Dr M K Naik; plenary session 1 by Dr Maheshwarappa, Scientist from CPCRI, Kerala; plenary session 2 by Dr Nitin K S from NIE, Mysuru.
Valedictory was graced by Mr K U Anup, Assistant General Manager from CAMPCO, Puttur and Sri M Venkat Rao, Secretary H V Sangha Surathkal. Compering was done by Dr Namratha B, Assistant Professor, PG department of Chemistry, GDC, Surathkal.
