The Indian Red Cross Society Karnataka, Dakshina Kannada District; Mangalore University Youth Red Cross Society and Govinda Dasa College Youth Red Cross Wing jointly organized a one-day awareness and training programme on basic first-aid for physical directors/ physical education teaches from different schools on 17th September 2021. The President of Hindu Vidyadayinee Sangha E. Janardhan, addressing the gathering, said that the Red Cross Wing promotes humanitarian values, encourages to respect other human beings and instills the willingness to work together to find solutions to any existing problems. Besides, the Red Cross Wings create awareness in society about rendering helping hands during emergency. The Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada District Chairman Shri C.A. Shantaram Shetty presided over the inaugural function. The Principal Prof. Krishnamoorty P. was the Chief Guest. The Corporator of Municipal City Corporation Shri Varun Chowta, the Managlore University Youth Red Cross society Nodal Officer Shri Ganapathi Gowda, the Red Cross Committee State Representative Shri Yathish Baikampady, the IRCS Dakshina Kannada District Vice-Chairman Shri B. Nithyannada Shetty, the Managing Committee Member of IRCS DK District Shri Ravinda Shetty, the Physical Education Director of Mangalore North Zone Education Department Asha Nayak and the Administrative-Director of Govinda Dasa College Prof. Ramesh Kulai were present on the dais. The resource persons Shri Ashwin Kumar and Shrikanth, the Vice-President of Hindu Vidyadayinee Sangha Y.V. Rathnakar Rao, the PTA president Shri Leeladhar Shetty, Vice-Principal Prof. Ramesh Bhat. S. G., the IQAC Coordinators Prof. Harish Acharya and Prof. Nilappa were also present.The trainer Mr. Sachet Suvarna addressed the gathering. The NSS Officer of Govinda Dasa College Ms. Poornima Gokhale welcomed the gathering and the YRC Wing Officer of our College Mrs. Babitha Naveenchandra conveyed the vote of thanks. Ananya J. Ullal of III BCA mastered the ceremony. Total 120 participants from different schools and colleges of Dakshina Kannada district gained the knowledge of first-aid training.
ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಘಟಕ, ದ.ಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕ , ಯೂತ್ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಘಟಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೂತ್ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಘಟಕ ಗೋವಿಂದ ದಾಸ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್ ಇದರ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ತರಬೇತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರ ವನ್ನು ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೂತ್ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು . ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ, ದ.ಕ. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸಿ.ಎ. ಶಾಂತಾರಾಮ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ತರಬೇತಿಯು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲೂ ಇದರ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆ ಎದುರಾಗಬಹುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂತಹ ತರಬೇತಿಗಳು ತುಂಬಾ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕಾರಿ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಿಂದೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾದಾಯಿನಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿರುವ ಇ.ಜನಾರ್ಧನ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಅರಿವು ಪಡೆಯುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇತರರಿಗೂ ನೆರವು ಒದಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು. ಯೂತ್ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಘಟಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ನೋಡಲ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಡಾ . ಗಣಪತಿ ಗೌಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ರೆಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರವರೆಗೂ ಇಂತಹ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ತಲುಪಲು ಬೇಕಾದಂತಹ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
